Life as Skales

hello! so I decided to start blogging for one of two reasons (1) I hardly ever post anything on Facebook and with my parents in Chile this way my family can see what we've been up to and (2) I wanted a way to remember mine and Sam's adventures. Sam and I were skyping with my family the other day and I think we came to the conclusion that we've had a pretty awesome seven months of marriage (ok maybe everyone thinks that but I still think we win)!

So I thought that I would start off with a list of my favorite things that we've done together as newlyweds :).

Up first was riding the Ferris wheel at Scheels. We tried doing this when we were dating but we didn't realize that you needed to buy tokens to do so, and by the time we did they stopped selling them. But we were finally able to check it off the list.

We celebrated Pi day with matching shirts. I'm sure we got some strange looks that night when we went out to dinner but I'd say we never looked better.

We took a trip with friends to California.

We may have spent a little too long at the beach without any sunscreen. You'll definitely see the burns in the later pictures.

I wish I could say that the camera made our faces look so red but this is the result of not spending any time in the sun and then thinking you can spend hours on the beach without any sunscreen!

We spent fourth of July hiking, relaxing and eating some good old American food.

We unleashed our inner craftiness and attempted melted crayon art. We thought the blow dryer method was taking a little too long so we opted for the oven method. I guess we failed to realize that the crayons would melt a LOT faster and drip all over our oven.

We went to a Llama Festival! I love llamas but they were sort of freaking me out! So I look a little hesitant to touch them in all of our pictures. Finally I just opted for pictures of Sam touching the Llama and me hugging him :)

See? Life's been pretty great for us!!
