Europe: Parte due

So that title was my weak attempt at Italian. In reality I'm pretty sure that all the Italian I learned was related to food. Remember when I said not to hate me for all the travel blogs? Well here is take 2, aka the ItAlY highlights :).

So the trip started with a VERY delayed flight so we started playing around with filters on Sam's phone and became obsessed with the black and white filter! Our eyes look so freaky!!

Aaaanwayyysss....let's get to the good stuff. First of all Venice is like a dream! I swear everything looks like a postcard. We had so much fun wandering the streets and "getting lost in Venice." I probably shouldn't put that in quotes because I got sooo lost there! Sam definitely had to be the navigator.

Bridge of Sighs!! ^^

Our awkward selfie with the gondolier that makes it look like he's a little man on Sam's shoulder!

We had the most delicious Tiramisu in Italy. OMG! We started getting dessert with every dinner and I was in HEAVEN! Sam got his pizza fix while I stuffed my face with lots and lots of pasta.

oh and before I get too carried with food, let me just mention our day trip to Florence.

Anddd we're back to food...sorry but that caprese salad is to DIE for.

ok i'm done with food (for now).

Umm how cool is that view? We hiked up to this statue of David and saw the BEST view of Florence!

Sam's future palace.

Ok I'm sorry can we just have a moment of silence for THE BEST gelato ever? No joke. We found it. Everything is made with fresh fruit and made right in their little shop. You could taste how fresh it was!

After our day trip to Florence we ended the trip back in Venice and had so much fun exploring sights near the Rialto bridge.

How cool is the Grand Canal??

Looking at all of these pictures is making me hungry all over again and I would give anything to have that Florence gelato again! We LOVED Italy! Sam and I can't stop talking about our trip there (and the gelato)! Oh and we stayed in the cutest hotel in Venice. It was so quaint and so nice and the best part was it was 5 minutes from San Marco so if you're ever planning a trip to Venice let me know!

Europe: Part one

So I'm finally getting around to blogging about our trip and it turns out we have way too many pictures to fit into one post so I'll have to do multiple (which is ironic because I've been telling Sam that we didn't take enough pictures).

First of all I can't tell you how much we LOVED Europe! It was so nice to get away and just explore different cities together, not to mention the food was delicious! I could write a whole post just about the gelato but I will refrain for now.

We started our trip in Geneva and had the best host ever, the Johnson Family! It was so fun seeing them and catching up with them because we hadn't seen them since our wedding. Susan did a great job keeping Sam and I awake because we were sooo jet lagged. We sat on the very last seat on the plane and so we did not sleep at all! People were constantly walking by us and standing in line by our seats for the bathroom so it was a rough night on the plane. We didn't want to waste any time though so we got there and got cleaned up and stated seeing Switzerland!

Susan knew the best castles and places to take us and they were beautiful!!

After the best night sleep ever, we journeyed into France the next day to go to Evian and fill our Evian water bottles at the source!

That night Sam and I had a little too much fun exploring Old Town Geneva....

After going to church we went to probably my favorite city ever Annecy in France. It's like a little mini Venice and they have the cutest most colorful homes with flower boxes everywhere!

Oh and the water there is like the prettiest color! I would seriously go back there in a heartbeat! It was so cute and quaint and I cannot hype it up enough.

Stay tuned for Italy, and more France and Switzerland! (Please don't hate me after I spend forever blogging about this trip :))
